Private Yoga and Fitness Overview

A private or semi-private yoga or fitness session with one of our highly experienced instructors offers something for every student at Mindstream Yoga.

Private Yoga and Private Fitness is typically offered in 60 or 90 minute sessions. We also offer 60 minute Semi-Private (3 or less people) and Group Private (4 or more people) sessions.

Most Mindstream Yoga teachers are available for private sessions depending on the day/time. Please inquire below about the availability of your preferred teacher.

Private Yoga/Fitness is available during the following times at Mindstream Yoga:

  • M-F from 7-9am
  • M-Th from 2:45-3:45pm
  • Friday from 1:15-3:45pm and from 7-9pm (except during Teacher Training)
  • Saturday from 1:15-5:15pm and from 7-9pm (except during workshops and Teacher Training)
  • Sunday from 1:15-3:45 (except during workshops and Teacher Training)

Is Private Yoga Right for Me?

New Students/Special Circumstances Students:

Those new to yoga receive focused attention and hands-on alignment coaching and adjustments to ensure you start your yogic experience off on the right foot. Your instructor will focus on teaching the fundamentals of common postures and yogic breathing techniques you do in our classes, and answer any questions you have. A private session also offers the perfect introduction to yoga if you’re hesitant to jump right into a group class or are returning to yoga with new circumstances (injury, illness, pre-natal/post-partum, etc) and want to learn special modifications and techniques that you can apply to your practice in class.

Experienced Students:

Take your practice to the next level with a private session geared towards exploring advanced postures, tweaking alignment, and working through any fears you may have holding you back in certain poses. Your private yoga instructor can help you design a personalized yoga regimen and advise you on what each Mindstream Yoga class offers for your practice.

Yoga as Medicine:

Yoga, used in conjunction with other treatment modalities like physician care, physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic, Rolfing, massage, and so on, is a powerful form of medicine. It can help to correct asymmetrical alignment and strength in your body caused by illness, injury, surgery, or chronic repetitive movement conditions. It can also help treat conditions like chronic stress, chronic pain, and digestive issues and is used to enhance physical and mental performance in sports. Private yoga used in this way is typically scheduled in 8-12 weekly or bi-weekly session packages to provide consistency in the body and give ample time for a treatment program to be developed and worked through.

Private Fitness Coaching/Personal Training:

Enhance your fitness routine with private training sessions with one of our fitness instructors, many of whom are also Certified Personal Trainers. Whether you'd like to come in for a single session to learn specific exercises you can take to the gym or you'd prefer to set up regular appointments to help you lose weight or achieve a fitness goal, our instructors are here for you.

Small Groups:

Have a friend or family member or two that have some questions or want some pointers about their practice too? Bring them with…we love small group sessions! A small group can be instructed by one instructor, or a few, depending on what each participant’s goals are. Just let us know what you want and we’ll do our best to facilitate it. Group Private Yoga is also a great activity for birthday parties, bachelorette parties, and other fun occasions!
