India Seva Project with Yoga Medicine
Mindstream Yoga founder and co-owner Lindsay Roselle will be traveling to Kolkata, India in December with the Yoga Medicine Seva Project to volunteer with the Women's Interlink Foundation and The Village Experience, organizations that provide education, healthcare, and job training to women and children in rural and impoverished communities.
Many of these women and children have been victims of sex trafficking and lack the basic resources and skills to provide for themselves. Our time in Kolkata will be spent at the shelter providing much needed support and love to the women and children living there. Lindsay has traveled to India several times and feels drawn to this cause in particular because of the integration of her interests in service, yoga, and women supporting women.
The organizations involved have been thoroughly vetted by Yoga Medicine to ensure that all funds are directly applied to the shelters we'll be working at, so you know your contribution is making an immediate difference. All donated funds are used to support the efforts of the shelters in Kolkata directly and Lindsay's cost of travel to India.
More about the Yoga Medicine Seva Project: Our chosen project is to support the day-to-day operation of 15 street kids shelters, preventing the trafficking of kids ages 4-15 living in the slums and red light districts of Kolkata. The shelters provide healthcare, education, nutritional meals, tutoring, job coaching, yoga classes and other recreational activities for over 525 children. Our funds will be used towards teacher’s and supervisor’s salaries, accounting, programming, transportation, and educational materials.
